The three medallion, red ground layout is often attributed to the Lori-Pambok village in the Kazak district of the SW Caucasus. This popular type shows two octagonal ivory medallions vertically flanking a stepped blue, here abrashed, fat cruciform motif, with hooked diamonds scattered tastefully about.
