This is an exceptionally large Southwest Persian tribal piece (kellegi) with a delightful medium blue-teal sub-field with a tribal version of the allover Herati design also in the three stepped and hooked central medallion column. Red, ivory and camel-yellow details. Orange-red field with triple posy repeating pattern. Narrow ecru main border of simple reversing profile flowers. Chessboard bitonal extra end border stripes. High quality nomadic pile wool, wool foundation. Good condition with a moderately fine weave.
