Antique Caucasian Prayer Rug
This northeast Caucasian ivory ground, niche formal small scatter displays a slightly curvilinear lozenge lattice enclosing flowers and pendanted diamonds. The spandrels are decorated with large red hands and tiny two finial botehs. A comb for cleanliness occupies the base of the faceted blue arch. Red border with broadly rendered barred S design in ivory, yellow, abrashed blue and camel-straw. Visible reduction at one end. Medium weave, wool foundation, symmetric knots. Generally good condition.
