Hand Made Tabriz Persian Rug
Hand Made Tabriz Persian Rug, 1970s
Elaboration knows no bounds on this very finely woven, NW Persian urban carpet with an eggshell sub-field hosting myriads of racemes, vinery segments, palmettes and botehs.
The artistically nested oval medallion employs pendants and attached boteh-like hooked leaves..Surrounding is a sandy-straw field with pointed mihrab-like corners. The main border has a salmon ground with every second palmette violating the inner border. Pile islands on the plainweave ends. Very extensive palette, with an especially appealing goldenrod and teal. Shaded contours. Fine condition.
