Rust field, not red on a well-woven central Persian urban (and urbane) Carpet with impeccable drawing in the classical style. Acanthus edges the lobed, pinched and trefoil pendanted royal blue medallion with an ivory cruciform centre. The motives increase in scale from the centre out through the field and then contract into the ivory corners once again. Tonally en suite main border with tilted small and larger corner palmettes and two types of reversing palmettes in the main border sections. As new condition. .
