Not your usual “American Sarouk” style with detached flower sprays, but a classic octogramme palmette medallion on a navy ground tightly designed with spiraling arabesques (islimi) and variously sized palmettes, all in the 16th century Persian manner. Broken red main border points to a post WWII date. Looks totally urban, but it is a village product, but with very high standards of wool and weave. Good condition..
