Most weavings from the famed NW Persian village district of Heriz Are in carpet sizes, but here is a good condition, small, square scatter with an all natural dye palette based on a tomato red madder field, with bitonal teal and ivory recurved acanthus leaves, framing a a small open lozenge centre with palmette extensions. Full length palmette, floret and stem side devices. Navy ragged recurved acanthus leaf and rosette main border. Solid, medium coarse weave on a cotton foundation.
