This is clearly an outstanding Kurdish city scatter whose old ivory field displays a partial three-dimensional pattern of large, aggressive tri-tone sickle leaves crossing over petal palmettes, with a central tall staff showing more palmettes, small tulipoid flowers and wing-like paired leaves. All the motives are well spaced and dimensionally congruent. The cardinal red border of this extremely solid, compact rug show ivory flowers embraced by a blue barbed, undulating, broad vine. Good condition.
